Description Tomaree and Yacaaba (Little Brother And Big Brother). On Worimi Country on the Mid North Coast of NSW home of my Ancestors stands two Mountains Tomaree and Yacaaba at the entrance of Port Stephens like two Guardian’s, this landscape is extraordinary and has existed from the time of creation by our creator spirit Baiyami, Tomaree and Yacaaba would guide the water and the gift of marine life in and out of the waterways and lands that provided for my ancestors for thousands of years, Lil Brother Tomaree provided valuable resources for my people and Big Brother Yacaaba was home to sacred midden sites and a place where my ancestors were layed to rest before returning into the stars of the dreaming.

Gerard Black Artist Bio 

Gerard Black is a proud Worimi Man. After a 10 year career as a tattoo artist Gerard is now focusing on his paintings. His work reflects his deep connection to his Indigenous background, storytelling and his love of nature and draws on his strong design background from tattooing to produce a unique style of art. This together connects ancient Indigenous art with modern design and medium.

Gerard lives and works on Gulidjan and Wadawurrung County.
